Landmark Restaurant and Lounge Debuts Live Piano Entertainment

Corona del Mar, CA – As part of its extensive remodel, Landmark Restaurant and Lounge, today announced the addition of live piano entertainment featuring accomplished pianist Ed Waters. The spacious, albeit cozy lounge is framed by the addition of a classic baby grand piano, further defining Landmark as the city’s premiere destination for dining, drinking and quality lounge entertainment.

Guests can now enjoy live piano entertainment while sipping a cocktail in the lounge or dining on the adjacent outdoor patio. The custom-tailored piano features an integrated zebrawood bar top allowing guests intimate face-to-face interaction with the performer and a unique overall entertainment experience.

Commenting on his appointment, Waters said, "The opportunity of performing at Landmark is like coming home for me. Corona del Mar has missed the ambiance of a comfortable piano bar since "Mistral" closed in 2003. The addition of a piano is an exciting part of the remodel and I'm glad to be a part it."

Waters will perform weeknights beginning each Tuesday at 6pm. A talented veteran pianist and musician, Waters has been perfecting his craft for over thirty years and has performed across the country playing with such acts as Billy Idol and the Tubes among others. A long-time Corona del Mar resident, Waters - who played at Mistral, as well as Mastro’s Ocean Club before joining the team at Landmark - is a favorite among locals and is known for his vast repertoire and multifaceted style.

Landmark Restaurant and Lounge Announces New General Manager Brian Hanson

Corona del Mar, CA (June 2, 2008) – Landmark Restaurant and Lounge, today, announced the appointment of Brian Hanson as General Manager. Hanson brings decades of expert restaurant management skills to the position. Working in tandem with newly appointed Operations Manager, Brian Shaw, Hanson will oversee daily restaurant and lounge operations.

“It is an honor to be part of the LM team,” said Hanson. “I’ve admired Landmark for years and I’m excited to be part of its continued success.”

Following his appointment, Landmark proprietor Mario Marovic said, “We feel very fortunate to attract the very best industry professionals and Hanson was always our number one choice with his vast experience in both fine dining and upscale casual dining segments. He brings intimate knowledge of the business and a penchant for unparallel customer service. We are extremely pleased to have him on board.”

Past restaurants under Hanson’s tutelage include some of the most respected names in the business, including Houston’s Steakhouse in Century City and Manhattan Beach, as well as Bandera in Brentwood, and most recently Bandera in Corona del Mar. A native of Portland, Oregon, Hanson relocated to Newport Beach in 1979, where he continues to reside with his wife and two children.
